Zack’s Super Secret Chili Recipe!

Chili

The chili can be made in the slow cooker or on the stove.  It’s very easy, quick, and amazingly good!

Servings: 10

INGREDIENTS:

1 – pound lean ground turkey (or sub with your meat of choice)

1 – 46 fluid ounce can tomato juice

1 – 15 ounce can of black beans, drained and rinsed

1 – 15 ounce can of kidney beans, drained and rinsed

2 – 15 ounce cans of diced tomatoes (no salt added)

1 – 15 ounce can of whole kernel corn, drained and rinsed

1 1/2 cups chopped white onion

1 cup chopped green onions

1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon white sugar

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1 tablespoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin

1/4 cup chili powder (1/2 cup for more heat)

DIRECTIONS:

1. Place ground turkey beef in a deep skillet.  Cook over medium-high heat until browned. Drain.

2.  In a large pot over high heat combine all ingredients.  Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.  Simmer for 1 1/2 hours.  (Note: If using a slow cooker, set on medium, add ingredients and cook for 3 – 4 hours.)

Best served with cheese, sour cream, and jalapenos/fresh diced chili verde peppers.
